Gordon Bennett is an Australian artist and was born in 1955. He is an indigenous artist who studied language and systems of thought's roles in forging identity. An example of this can be seen in the "Notes to Basquiat" series when he writes racist slang names of Australian colonialism and African American history next to images of various parts of the human body.
