Ghada Amer, born in Cairo, Egypt, focuses her work on the issues of sexuality and gender. She is a multimedia artist with examples of painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, and installation. Ghada Amer's work revolves around cliché roles imposed on women as well as the idea of "feminine activities". Amer's work generally focuses on universal problems like the oppression of women in all cultures and celebrates female sexuality, love, and beauty.
